Lúna — alum

Lúna (meaning “moon”) uses silver-toned alum, a material that dates back to the fifth century BC and was once valued more than gold.

Today it is far more widely available and used extensively in industry, making it a modern yet highly sustainable material which is key to its inclusion in the artist’s work.

Each piece is handmade in Ken’s workshop in Ballyferriter, set deep within the Dingle Peninsula. Because items are made-to-order, there can be slight variations compared to images shown here. No two are the same, making each piece as unique as the place they come from. Custom sizes available upon request: kenbolgerarts@gmail.com
