Studying both fine art painting and sculpture at National College of Art and Design, Dublin, he now combines these principles to create at his own aesthetic.

Ken’s copper pieces tell tales of ancient voyages, battles and warriors and stunning landscape of the Dingle Peninsula.

Each piece is unique due to the specific techniques that Ken has developed over many years, which include etching, controlled oxidation and heat to bring out the natural verdigris of the copper. No two pieces are the same, making them as unique as the place they come from.

He uses highest quality copper in his work, and a visit to his gallery, studio brings home the excepional versatility of these distinctive art pieces.

The Dingle Peninsula is a hive of ancient history and contains some of the best scenic views in Ireland.

Rolling hills and mountains surrounded by the rugged Atlantic coast line that has been inhabited for thousands of years by a range of peoples dating back to the ancient Celts and today by a community of people that have been able to uphold rich traditions of the past.

Ken carries a deep belief in sustainability throughout his art and craftwork. He combines recycled materials and ancient techniques to craft pieces that are an expression of the land where they come from.

The Valentia slate, sourced locally, is not fit for its original purpose, but makes for an amazing fine art medium.
